I believe content marketing can boost your online presence quickly so you can gain the visibility that attracts quality leads. The trick is to use an effective strategy that gives your target audience the idea that you are everywhere, so you must be the best at what you do.

What Are The 5 Strategies for Attracting Clients?

The top 5 ways to share your content and attract clients take advantage of what is available and is already being used by most people. When you use all 5 methods, you multiply your efficiency and reach while saving time and energy because you can leverage one piece of content in many different ways and on a variety of platforms.

I’ll list these strategies in the order of most dynamic and engaging to least, but they are all worth doing.

Strategy 1: Livestream Video

Social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn have prioritized live video over recorded and natively uploaded video over links. The reason is that each of these sites wants to keep their users engaged and present on their site for as long as possible. Live video helps them do that.

People enjoy live video more than recorded video because it makes them feel important when their name and comment are read and posted on the screen during the event. Live video is like live theater, it sparks more energy and excitement and adds authenticity to your authority when people can interact with you through the chat.

Here are some compelling recent statistics:

  • 82% of consumers would rather watch live videos than read social media posts.
  • 61% of people say their purchase decisions came from watching vlogs on YouTube.
  • Marketers who use video grow revenue 49% faster than non-video users.

What could live video do for you, your brand, and your business? 

Strategy 2: Podcasting

When you consider there are currently over 2 million podcasts available worldwide, you may think it’s too late to get on such a crowded platform. However, most of these podcasts are abandoned after a short stint of activity. For instance, 12% of podcasts have only published a single episode, 6% haven’t made it past two episodes, and half of all podcasts have 14 or fewer episodes.

If you develop a solid strategy for podcasting at least once a week and publishing your podcast consistently, you will rise to the top of the podcasting tower and there are many reasons to do so, including:

  • There are over 16 million self-identified “avid podcast fans” in the U.S.
  • 24% (68 million) listen to podcasts weekly.
  • 60% of podcast listeners have bought something from a podcast ad.

There are many more amazing statistics you can Google, but the bottom line is podcasting is effective content marketing.

Strategy 3: Blogging

Blogging has been around for many years, so again, you may feel this platform is crowded. However, quality content never gets old and is always appreciated. Think about what your target audience might need to type into Google when they want information. If you write a blog post about that topic, they will find your article when they most need it.

Should you write short-form blogs or longer ones? Add photos and videos or just text? What works best? There are statistics that show conflicting information, so it’s best to just write the kind of blog that you enjoy enough to keep posting consistently. Need more reasons to write a blog?

  • Blogs that earn over $50,000 per year say their most popular posts are 2,424 words long. That’s an entire 83% longer than those of low-income bloggers! 
  • 34% of buyers will make an unplanned purchase after reading quality content.
  • The #1 traffic source for high-income bloggers is organic traffic from Google.

Start off writing a weekly blog based on the latest news in your industry and your opinion and personal story about that news. For instance, one of my favorite video creation apps has been purchased by a larger company and I’m worried it will change significantly. This affects me because I use the app for my content marketing every week. All I need to do is put in more details and this is a blog post that people will likely find when they search for more information about this week’s news stories.

Strategy 4: Lead Magnets and Email Sequences

Creating and offering a lead magnet followed by a nurturing email sequence works because it keeps you top of mind for your target audience. They receive value from your lead magnet and they begin to feel trust in your work. Then they are included in your community through the emails you send. Finally, you can present another offer for a paid product and they are more likely to buy it because they believe you have the one and only solution to their particular problem. They have looked nowhere else and they don’t have to since you have been their source of information. When it comes to lead magnets, 

  • 50% of marketers who start using lead magnets report higher conversion rates.
  • 58.6% of marketers claim that short-form written lead magnets (newsletters, checklists, copy examples, smaller files, ebook samples) make for the highest conversion rates.

A lead magnet is a great start, but without the follow-up email sequence to nurture your leads, it’s just a wasted effort. Here’s what experts say about email:

  • 87% of marketers use email campaigns to nurture their audiences.
  • For every $1 you spend on email marketing, you can expect an average return of $42.

Again, this strategy is definitely worth your time. An email list of quality leads is a top asset for your company. If you keep them engaged, you can continue to sell your digital products to them for years to come.

Strategy 5: Social Media Posting & Engagement

Although you don’t technically own your place on a social media platform, it is still a valuable place to increase your visibility. Consider these statistics:

  • There are 3.78 billion social media users worldwide in 2021.
  • Roughly two-thirds of U.S. adults (68%) now report that they are Facebook users.
  • The latest social media statistics in 2021 show that an average of two hours and 25 minutes are spent per day per person on social media.

Yes, there is a lot of noise, and confusion in this crowded social media realm. But you can narrow things down by focusing on the platform where your target audience is most likely to spend their time. Then double down on this platform by posting consistently and often with a variety of content including video, images, quotes, and conversation-starting text. If you find one or two of your posts do exceptionally well, boost those posts as ads and see how much engagement you can get for $1 a day for one or two weeks.

Create a Supportive Facebook Group

Once you’ve reached somebody who seems a good fit for your online community, invite them to join your Facebook group. This is a way they can network and collaborate with you and others in your community. It marks you as a leader who brings people together to offer them value and connection.
