  • Cognitive Arousal: Racing thoughts increase your heart rate and activate your sympathetic nervous system, making relaxation nearly impossible.

“It’s not just a feeling,” Jared explains. “There’s measurable brain activity happening—your DMN gets overactive, cortisol floods in, and you’re stuck in a loop.”


🌿 Meditation, Hypnosis & the Next Best Feeling Thought

Thankfully, tools like guided meditation, self-hypnosis, and even a simple mantra like “I don’t need to figure this out right now” can start to calm the system.

Meditation helps by:

  • Reducing DMN activity
  • Lowering cortisol
  • Activating the parasympathetic nervous system (your calming center)

“You’re not being dramatic,” Jared says. “You’re being biologically strategic.”
