Practicing Truth and Reality in a World of Noise

In our recent episodes of Vibrations and Manifestations, we explored two sides of the same coin. Episode 65 asked: How do you find your truth when the external world feels confusing, silenced, or overrun by static? Episode 66 dug into a related paradox: How does your brain blur the lines between what you see, what you remember, and what you imagine—and how can you use that to your advantage?

Together, these episodes reveal a roadmap for navigating the chaos around us while staying aligned with the life we want to create.


Story: Two Kinds of Static

Alicia shared a story in Episode 66 about her brother in Evansville, Indiana. After watching a short video clip of the city’s struggles—economic hardship, drug use, desperation—her body reacted with fear. Logic said her brother was fine. But her nervous system? It didn’t care.

This is trauma by proxy: our bodies rehearsing stress and danger even when it’s not happening to us.

In Episode 65, Jared described a different kind of static: corporate greed and voices silenced. Misinformation that directly creates anxiety, fear, confusion, depression, and feelings of helplessness. Not physical danger, but informational chaos—who do you trust, what’s real, and how do you keep your sanity?

Both stories highlight the same truth: what you consume, whether fear-based media or noisy information feeds, gets rehearsed in your nervous system as if it’s your present reality.


The Science: Why It Feels So Real

  • Mirror neurons fire both when you act and when you see someone else act (Rizzolatti, 1996).
  • Amygdala activation lights up when you witness stress indirectly, like through media (Garrett & Maddock, 2006).
  • Memory replay reactivates the same brain regions as the original event (Bremner, 1999).
  • Anticipatory anxiety shows up when you imagine a challenge going badly (Grupe & Nitschke, 2013).
  • Mental rehearsal activates the same neural pathways as real practice. Pianists who only imagined playing still improved significantly (Pascual-Leone, 1995).

As Alicia said:

“Your nervous system fundamentally encodes practice. And it doesn’t really care how it gets that practice.”


Tools: Reclaiming Your Nervous System

1. The Media Reset Breath

  • Inhale slowly through your nose.
  • Exhale with a sigh, releasing borrowed fear.
  • Repeat three times, anchor with: That was theirs, not mine.

2. The Mist Walk Visualization

  • Imagine old regrets behind you dissolving into mist.
  • Ahead, see a rainbow or sunset glowing. Walk toward it.
  • Whisper: The past is dissolved. The future is open. I walk free.

3. Rehearse Success Instead of Anxiety

  • When nervous, picture the event going well—your body steady, voice clear, others receptive.
  • Breathe into the pride and relief as if it already happened.

4. Embodiment Questions

  • If my desires were inevitable, how would I move right now?
  • If abundance was my baseline, how would I treat myself?
  • If safety was my default, how would I carry my body?

Action Steps

This week, notice the loops you’re rehearsing. Are you practicing stress from the news, replaying an old embarrassment, or rehearsing fear of a future event? Or are you deliberately choosing to rehearse safety, truth, and alignment?

Start small. Use one tool a day—maybe the reset breath after scrolling, or the mist walk before bed. Each repetition rewires your nervous system, shifting your baseline from chaos to clarity, from fear to manifestation.

You can’t always control the noise outside. But you can always choose what reality you rehearse inside.
